My name is Kamila. I’m an educated Journalist and Photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden.
I have been working as Photojournalist on Documentary Sports and IT Business Documentary Photography for years.
My greatest satisfaction stems from photographing people in their everyday life. Such photography is a combination of exuberant photojournalism with an artistic portrait.
My daily workshop and specialization is Reportage and Documentary Photography, which combines everything I love about photography: authenticity, spontaneity of narration, true storytelling. It’s an undirected one-shot story, it’s a visual work of art captured on photography.

Kamila Mankiewicz – Photographer in Stockholm – a few words about how it all began… (it will be a bit sentimental and maudlin)
My interest in photography began over 30 years ago, in the early 90s.
My father, who was also an enthusiast of photography, drew me into the magical world of photography, cameras, lenses, film-developed images.
In my memory, I cherish our trips to the mountains together, where we climbed to the top for several hours at dawn, just to take the best shot of the sunrise. I remember our numerous trips to Berlin for the World Press Photo exhibition, which showed me that photography has as many views as we allow ourselves.
Our home, amateur studio, but equipped with a professional camera and lenses, gave rise to my own passion, the magic of photography and all the technology related to it. These memories are and will always be a driving force for me to be better and perfect.
That’s it for this topic, I don’t want to bore you further.
FAMILY PORTRAIT
PHOTOJOURNALISM VS. PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
Reportage photography is above all unique Portrait Photography. It’s a subtle human story captured on photography. For me, people will always be the most important element connecting all my photographs. That’s why today, when I photograph people, I want to capture their story, touch their soul, emotions and show them as they are.
PHOTOJOURNALISM VS. FAMILY DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY (DFP)
Reportage photos have one thing in common. The photos are absolutely unique. These are photographs of one shot because there is no possibility of repeating the same moment.
This is how my pioneering project of Documentary Family Photography began. These projects are: #HELLOSMALLONE, #IAMGROWING, #KEEPONEDAY. In the case of the first two, they are addressed to parents who want to document the birth and growing up of their children. (More on this on the Documentary Family website).
On the other hand, #KEEPONEDAY is a unique project addressed to you. We can stop the flow of time for a moment, capture one day from your life, so that you can return to these moments in a while.
Documentary Photography is an accurate and direct representation of people, places, and things. DP is all about being true to the moment. That means Family Documentary Photography is about honoring the simplicity of everyday activities, the time you spend together, whether it’s eating breakfast, doing homework together, or playing with the kids on the playground. It allows you, your family, and children to be itself. Children during the session may run around, have dirty faces from chocolate, and disheveled hair. The greatest reward is the emotions of people watching my photos, because each of us perceives art in our own way. I would like my photos to evoke emotions and open your eyes to new experiences.

I work in beautiful Stockholm, Warsaw, Poznań, Berlin … and really everywhere to be able to capture emotions and special moments, because I believe that there is nothing more amazing than life itself.
HIGH-QUALITY PHOTOS ARE REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT
I shoot with the latest professional system camera Nikon Z7II (Z7-2) with the highest quality lenses that provide high light sensitivity, which gives bright and clear photos even in darker environments. Thanks to a wide range of defined lenses for the Nikon Z series camera, I am able to beautifully bring out portraits, as well as group photos or photojournalism. Regardless of whether it is indoor or outdoor photography, we have a professional portable set of lamps and accessories needed to work even in difficult conditions.
FOR THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHERS ANY FORMAT IS TOO LARGE, ANY DETAIL TOO SMALL
A few words more about the Nikon Z7II system camera. Nikon Z7II is also a full-frame camera, which means that the photos have a dynamic range, and thanks to the two EXPEED processors, the camera achieves an above-average resolution of 45.7M pixels and higher image quality in the ISO range (65-25600). The ability to record movies in resolutions up to 4K/60p allows you to present dynamic scenes in extraordinary detail. The camera is also mirrorless, which gives the camera a higher performance. Thus, it also has one more good feature, important for a photojournalist photographer who works many hours, Nikon Z7II is much lighter than classic mirror cameras. Images average 8256 x 5504 pixels, which is very high quality for large prints such as paintings, including photographs printed on 100 x 150 cm canvas.
THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE ARTISTS TOO
That’s true. Just owning a camera won’t make you the best photographer. You are only the owner of the camera. A photographer is a profession and developed skills, but above all, a passion.
The best photographers treat photography as an art and are constantly looking for new provocations. That is why photographs should provoke, not show what is already known. In my opinion, it does not require great skill or magic to recreate someone’s portrait, a given place, but the magic is to show it in a completely new way. It is the Photographer who will make the moment a work of art.

FAQ: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHER STOCKHOLM
Is your studio in Stockholm, or is it possible to shoot outside of Stockholm?
Our base studios are located in Stockholm. Our experience is based on a flexible approach to each session. For extended fashion sessions, we use two additional studios also located in Stockholm. In the past, we simultaneously took photos in Warsaw and Poznań. So if you have questions about whether a session outside of Stockholm is possible, the answer is, yes. We price such sessions individually. Do not hesitate to ask.
How is photography planned in Stockholm?
All extended photo sessions begin with a joint free consultation, during which we discuss what are the expectations regarding the planned session and our solutions for its implementation. Depending on the wishes and planning of the place of the photo session (even those in Stockholm), it is necessary to book the date. Therefore, regardless of whether it concerns portrait, family, wedding, business or product photography, it is necessary to contact our studio in advance. We are also flexible and helpful in this area.
How much does photography cost?
The price for photos is based on the number of hours the work covers. Price per photograph ordered includes costs per hour that the work is required. In some cases, if a studio is used, there is an additional cost for the studio. The base price list for single photos is located on individual services, and also tracks promotions and packages.
How long does photography take?
The entire photo session can last from 15 minutes to 2-3 hours in the case of e.g. family photography, wedding, even 12 hours. When planning a photo (consultation), we set the scope of work, time and place together. If the session takes place outside of Stockholm, we also add travel time and related costs.
Can you do all variations of photography in the studio?
Studio photography and outdoor photography have different possibilities and advantages. The studios are ideal for portrait photography, product photography, and brand photography. For special tasks, we use special professional photographic backgrounds. Outdoor photography is the best solution for natural family and wedding sessions. No studio can replace true nature. Due to our aesthetics, we do not accept and do not take photos against the background of an artificially painted pergola or a romantic bridge.
How should you pose during portrait photography?
Most of my clients do not pose for photos every day, do not like it and feel self-conscious. It is my job to guide you properly during each photo session. Mutual trust and understanding are of great importance here. A good family and wedding photographer, in addition to professional equipment and photo processing skills, should be able to make everyone look good. I try to give simple and clear instructions. Personally, as a photographer, I make sure that the surroundings and lighting have the best conditions, which later gives results. The goal is to get nice pictures that do not require many corrections later. A friendly atmosphere during a photo session is a very important element, which is also reflected in the photo.
How many pictures do you get?
You choose how many photos you want to buy based on the session you order. This can range from one edited and retouched photo to dozens of extended sessions. In the case of extended photo sessions (Documentary Family Photography, Weddings), you will get access to a dedicated platform and a private password-protected Gallery, to which I send a link within 10-15 days of the session. Then you define what photos you would like to choose. You have 7 days to choose your photos. I do not share photos in RAW format or photos without copyright processing.
What is your working style of Documentary Wedding Session?
During any Documentary Family Photography including Wedding I am an observer. I do not interfere with the course of events. I try to capture the key moments for you. Furthermore, I encourage my clients and their guests to focus on the ceremony, have fun and pay no attention to me. Apart from a group photo and photos on special request, I do not take posed photos.

PHOTO ALBUMS
The effect of a photo session is always digital or classic printed photos. But the truth is, digital photos can never replace printed ones.
As a photographer, I am an absolute fan of large-format photo printed on paper or canvas, as well as photos printed in photo book.
Such one that you can always reach for on an autumn or winter evening and watch under a warm blanket over a cup of hot tea.
Tell your own story with beautiful photo albums.
That is why I would like to strongly encourage you to invest in an album printed on silk paper, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful frames for every photo session. Such albums, apart from being special keepsake, you can always reach for them or give them to your family.
I print albums and photos in a professional company that supports only photographers – Crystal Albums, who captivated me with its high quality products.
What do the albums look like?
All photos are printed on high-quality silk paper, which, thanks to its properties, does not leave any fingerprints.
The sheets in the albums are of two kinds, the stiff and beautiful looking sheets in the Storyalbum, or a little more flexible but still stiff in the Storybook (Storybook has no stiffening interleaf compare to Storyalbum).
On the other hand, the multitude and variety of frames and colors will allow you to match the style of each of you. The offer includes leather and canvas bindings, on which it is possible to customize UV print, embossing or engraving according to your vision and needs. In albums, the minimum number of spreads is 10 (i.e. 20 pages), and the maximum is 50 (i.e. 100 pages).
My little model Zoja shows the photo album with her photos framed in nubuk leather, and made with personal engraving. In the future, Zoja will have wonderful albums from different periods of her adolescence, because her parents decided on the #IamGrowing project.

DIGITAL ART
Digital Art is a variety of artistic compositions that relies heavily on the use of technology and computers in its creation. The technique it’s been around over 40 years. Already in the 70’s it was used to enrich the effects in advertising and movies.
As a child, I was a fan of comics. I liked the “freeze-frame” technique in the form of a drawing. I was amazed so I tried to draw small scenes from my life, or used my photography to created something fun.
In adulthood, advanced digital technology came to the rescue in the form of computer programs and graphic tablets. Using a digital pen, which can instantly turn it into a digital brush, another time into a pencil or marker, and my photos and portraits get a new lease of life.
I am an absolute fan of digital art.
