Hjalpfinns.nu is non-profit and non political only to work for people with mental illness.

“Hjalp finns nu” („help is available now”) is an extraordinary project that came to our Larenholtzmedia Studio in the end of 2021.
Two ambulance paramedics: Andrea and Fredrick, came to us who do extraordinary work on a daily basis.

Founder Andrea and Fredrik work in the Ambulance Service in Stockholm and are trained instructors in Acute Care of Suicidal Persons.

AOSP is a collaborative project between the blue light organizations (Police, Rescue Service, Ambulance), Suicide Prevention and Survivor Support in Stockholm (SPES) and the National Center for Suicide Research and Prevention (NASP, Karolinska Institutet), SOS Alarm and AISAB.

The idea behind this project is suicide prevention.
Anyone who has ever encountered this problem, directly or indirectly, may have wondered if and how it was possible to help the person who made this dramatic act.

Every 40 seconds a man is killed in the world. In 2020, 1,168 people died from confirmed suicide in Sweden.*

The main cause is depression. However, most survivors of suicide attempts say they didn’t want to die, just end their pain.

*In 2020, 1,168 people died from confirmed suicide in Sweden. Of these, 839 were men and 323 women and 6 were children under 15 years of age. A further 273 cases were registered where there was a suspicion of suicide but where the intention could not be substantiated. Two thirds of those who died by suicide in 2020 were men.

So the idea behind this project is nothing more than saving lives. It is an aid in the subject, although more and more widely discussed, but above all still left without effective tools.

Suicide prevention begins with paying attention to warning signs. They should not free to ignore them. We never know who needs such help.

Where to find this help? This is where our small role begins. In our studio we start to create one place named – Hjalpfinns.nu – a website, which will include emergency calls and more.

We are convinced that open conversation can save every life.
