WINTER
IN STOCKHOLM
SPECIAL EDITION GALLERY
Stockholm looks amazing at any time of the year. Winter time has something magical and mysterious about it and can conjure up amazing ice images and ice sculptures.
As You already know I am the biggest fan of the Stockholm’s marina and have been eagerly waiting to capture these images on my camera.
In winter time I love the most monochrome white shimmering in the sun, the ubiquitous silence, frozen water on the windows who look like painting pictures, and shimmering ice floes in the bay.
Now a resident of a coastal city, I waited impatiently to capture these images in my camera.
I was not disappointed.
Stockholm is 14 islands connected by 53 bridges. It only takes a few steps to get from one to the next.
Stockholm is called the “Venice of the North” not without reason.
A huge network of canals, islands and bridges, tunnels above and below the water creates the atmosphere and space of this place.

Walking around the marina, I soak up the ubiquitous silence and only the crackling snow under my shoes.
I pass quietly standing old fishing boats whose suspended icicles sparkle in the sun.
It is so magical.
Stockholmers stroll along the promenade in the early afternoon to catch the last rays before sunset.
