Yes Sweden’s daylight swings are dramatic, and they shape how we plan your portraits:

• Far north (Kiruna): Around midsummer the sun never fully sets, giving us a dreamy golden glow close to midnight perfect for late-night portraits without harsh shadows. In mid-winter the sun stays below the horizon; we get just a few hours of blue-tone twilight late morning. If you’re marrying up north in winter, we’ll schedule outdoor photos during that brief light and rely on cosy indoor backdrops (candles, fairy lights) for the rest.

• South-west coast (Gothenburg): Midsummer sunset lands about 22:15, so golden hour starts after 21:00 ideal if you’d like relaxed portraits after dinner. In December the sun sets around 15:25, which means we need to finish outdoor photos by mid-afternoon. Winter ceremonies here work best earlier in the day, with an indoor Plan B for anything after 15:00.

• Privacy & crowd safety We avoid flying directly over dense crowds and keep a respectful buffer around wedding guests and tourists.

• Park or museum permissions Certain spots such as the Vasa Museum roofline or Royal Djurgården Trust property may ask for a separate location permit, which I organise in advance.
